Willamette Valley Track and Field

Willamette Valley Track and Field funds youth track and field and running programs.  We are a volunteer run organization dedicated to the belief that sports programs are good for kids.  Our focus is on helping new and innovative programs in track and field and cross country running. We formed our organization because we saw that too often promising programs fade away (or worse, never get started) because they are missing a basic level of support. We seek to provide that support so organizers know their base level of expenses are covered which allows them to pursue opportunities to expand their programs.

Examples of programs we fund include the following:

The Stars and Stripes Track Fair is a week long camp where over 100 kids learn the basics of the various track and field events from former national and Olympic athletes.

We provide funding to help the Portland Public Middle School program for track and field and cross country.

We have helped support the Portland Track Festival, track and field meet for ages from kids on up to Olympic hopefuls.

We support the Portland Youth Cross Country series (PDX-XC) that has hundreds of kids running in city parks in the fall.

We have also funded new sports facilities at Roosevelt High School in Portland, Buckman Field next to Benson High School and a middle school in Beaverton.

We thank you for supporting our bingo game which makes it possible for us to support these events and programs for kids.  Your support makes these programs happen and makes them more affordable for kids and families.
